Silk was born Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Ilkay is the daughter Peter, a teacher and an accomplished actress and playwright. Peter was educated at St. Thomas University. Anna recalls her mother's work in the theatre and going to rehearsals. Silk produced a number of commercials when she was a child. She completed a Bachelors of Arts at St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas produced at least two early productions, Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk was able to move out of Toronto in 1999 to Los Angeles in the decade immediately following 1999. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007 when they met at an actor'sWorkshop held located in Los Angeles. In 2009 they were wed in a civil ceremony in December of 2009. They renewed their vows April 10th, 2011, in Fredericton, after the bride converted to Judaism.
